
Sautéed Vegetables
DescriptionNeed an elegant side dish that's taste tempting and delicious? You'll find this one just that and more, but it's not for you if you're on a diet or watching your cholesterol! It's vegetables sautéed in real butter. Margarine won't do. It's easy, rich and delicious so dig in and enjoy!
What you need
1 cast iron frying pan with cover
1 large cooking spoon
1 large cooking knife
1 small stainless steel strainerIngredients
4-6 medium carrots sliced fine
1 green bell pepper chopped fine
1/2 white onion sliced thin
2-4 cloves garlic slivered
1/4 pound butter
1 tbls Cajun SeasoningWhat you need to do
Over low heat, melt butter in 8" frying pan. Stir in vegetables and sprinkle with Cajun seasoning and cover. Cook for 1 hour stirring occasionally.
Uncover and raise heat to medium to brown vegetables, stirring occasionally. Watch you don't burn them. When they are lightly browned, after about 15 minutes, strain the butter off and place in a serving dish. Serve over rice.
