Café Au Láit

Description

A true Cajun delicacy, this drink is equal parts coffee and chicory and boiled milk, sometimes called "Coffee milk". Sugar is usually added. Enjoy!

What you'll need

1 drip coffee maker (non electric)
2 2 qt. pots
1 coffee measuring spoon

Ingredients

2 measures (4 tbsp.) of coffee and chicory**
1 1/2 qts. of water
1 qt. milk

What you need to do

Make coffee as described in Cajun Coffee but use two measures of coffee instead of one. Put 1 qt. milk in two qt. pot over high heat. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat a little and bring to a boil again. Let it boil a little while. Remove from heat and pour simultaniously equal amounts of coffee and boiled milk into 2nd 2 qt. pot. Pour into cups or mugs, add sugar and enjoy.
